TestVid was formed in early 2009 in order to provide unique test video material specifically for engineers working in the field of video codec testing, whether it be in development of such codecs, or the testing of them as users e.g. in the broadcast field.

Personnel

TestVid personnel have worked in the field of compressed video and video test for the past 25 years, with considerable experience of video codec development in previous companies, in particular since 2002 with development of industry-standard test tools for development and testing of video codecs (such test tools being used by codec developers in hundreds of companies in this field, and many broadcasters - companies such as Microsoft, Sony, Philips, Nokia, Harmonic, MainConcept ..).

In particular, TestVid personnel have made the video test clips supplied in the past to many codec developers and broadcast companies, including Intel, nVidia, AMD/ATI, Broadcom..

Therefore TestVid personnel are uniquely placed to understand what codec developers & broadcasters need in video test material; including not only the wide range of video itself to provide exhaustive tests, but also full documentation on video features as well as associated audio.
