FAQs - Tvids Hardware
The video is supplied on a USB hard disk unit. (Due to the size of the video files this is currently the only feasible means of doing so.) Depending upon the size of hard drive, it may be mains powered or USB line powered. If mains powered an appropriate mains power cord is supplied appropriate for your country. A USB cable is also provided. In addition to the USB hard disk unit, a user manual is supplied. (The user manual is also provided in PDF form on the hard disk.) What happens if the hard disk unit supplied fails? The hard disk unit is warranted for 180 days from the date of delivery, so we will replace it free of charge if it fails in this time (excluding shipping costs; you need to return the failed unit although we can do an advance replacement). Clearly this will take at least a few days and possibly a lot longer, so we strongly suggest that you make a backup copy of all the supplied clips as soon as you receive the unit. What about hardware for real-time play-out of the YUV video files (e.g. on SDI)? There is a white paper that explains how this may be done.
