New Test video sets for A/V sync - ‘SyncVid’  (PROVISIONAL INFORMATION)

Available mid-2012

This is a completely new product area: test video designed to be played directly through broadcast equipment for checking:

  • audio/visual sync
  • field order
  • clipping (i.e. where the top/bottom row or left-most/right-most column is cut off)
  • colour check (colour charts, grey charts)
  • resolution check using converging fine lines
  • with synchronised audio to make it easy to determine if audio/visual sync is lost through the broadcast equipment

Each SyncVid test set comprises sequences which have several elements:

  • synthetic test card (comprising color bars, gradients, grey gradients, fine patterns)
  • real-world close-up of person talking (for lip-sync checking)
  • moving bars for easy visual checking of a/v sync
  • indicators for field order, to make it easy to see when field order has been reversed
  • synchronised stereo audio: voice on left channel, audio blips on right channel
  • counting timecode, with field flag (if interlaced)

There are 6 versions of SyncVid:

  • T2S001_SyncVid_unc_US: uncompressed sequences at US frame rates (29.97/59.94 fps)
  • T2S002_SyncVid_unc_EU: uncompressed sequences at European frame rates (25/50 fps)
  • T2S021_SyncVid_cmp_US: compressed TS and MXF sequences (containing MPEG-2 video) at US frame rates (29.97/59.94 fps)
  • T2S022_SyncVid_cmp_EU: compressed TS and MXF sequences (containing MPEG-2video) at European frame rates (25/50 fps)
  • T2S041_SyncVid_cmp_US: compressed TS and MXF sequences (containing H.264 video) at US frame rates (29.97/59.94 fps)
  • T2S042_SyncVid_cmp_EU: compressed TS and MXF sequences (containing H.264 video) at European frame rates (25/50 fps)

 

New 3D stereoscopic video (uncompressed separate L+R)

Two new 3D sets:

  • T3D002 USA West: HD 1080p59.94 and HD 1080int29.97; scenes from San Francisco and Las Vegas   (available now)
  • T3D007 Asia: HD 1080p50 and 1080i50; scenes from Japan, Korea and China  (PROVISIONAL INFORMATION)

 

New 2D video (uncompressed)

Available Nov./Dec. 2011

Two new 2D sets:

  • T2V012 USA West: HD and SD at US frame rates i.e. 1080p59.94 and 1080int29.97; 720p30, 720p60 and NTSC  (PROVISIONAL INFORMATION)
  • T2V017 Asia: HD and SD at European frame rates i.e. HD 1080p50, 1080i50, 1080p25, 720p50, 720p25 and PAL  (available now)

New TvidsNXS software and hardware for real-time HD-SDI play-out

Available now

This software and hardware can be used to play directly the 2D and 3D Tvids in real-time on an HD-SDI channel:

  • TvidsNXS/3G: PC Windows software for real-time play-out of T2V and T3D uncompressed Tvids with PCI hardware board for high end play-out incl. 3D, dual link, dual rate
  • TvidsNXS/LHi: PC Windows software for real-time play-out of T2V and T3D uncompressed Tvids with PCI hardware board for 2D / single-link play-out

TestVid is selling these with the Tvids as a proven bundled set of video, software and hardware.

Note: the real-time play-out requires a high performance PC with fast disks.
