T2V006 Synthetic

T2V006 Synthetic and T2V016 Synth3060 have the same content: the difference is that the clips in T2V006 Synthetic  are at a nominal frame rate of 25 frames per second (nominally 720p25, 1080p25 and 1080i50); whereas the clips in T2V016 Synth3060 are at nominal frame rates of 30 and 60 frames per second (720p30, 720p60, 1080p30, 1080p60 and 1080i60).

Note however that either clip set can be played at any frame rate as they are YUV uncompressed, particularly as the clips are largely synthetic with a relatively small (or no) video content

Description of video

Synthetically generated scenes comprising real video, text, lines, graphics items, color bars, fractal patterns

Purpose

Test an encoder to deal with HD video, with specifically defined global and local motion, slow/medium/fast motion, with panning, scrolling, zooming, rotation, smooth and erratic, high/low contrast, with limited colours/vivid colours where each clip is designed to test a particular aspect of encoder performance

150 individual video clips (50 each at 1080p, 720p and 1080i resolutions)

Total of 1 hour 15 minutes (25 minutes each at 1080p, 720p and 1080i resolutions)

Combine interlaced fields which are stored in alternating format (bottom field followed by top field, each half-height) into frames where alternate lines contain alternate fields

Add black bars top & bottom (or left & right) of each video frame to create letterboxed (or pillarboxed) video
